Recently you saw the “den” side of our office/den and here you’ll get to see the “office” side.  One of the first things we bought after we closed on our home was a new desk.

Len does a lot of graphic design work at home so having a TV in this room was essential, only there really wasn’t anywhere to put it other than on the wall above the desk.  It actually turned out to be the perfect spot:

We also picked up this leather organizer and charging station from BB&B.  It’s perfect for our desk essentials (pens, scissors, disks, etc) and the charging station keeps all the wires from our gadgets hidden:

We find ourselves hanging out more in here than in the living room!

We had been trying to decide what to put above the sofa in our office/den for quite a while and here is what we chose to do:


             

I love how the mirror reflects the window and makes the room feel larger.  Thanks dinainsuburbia for your suggestion, you were right on!  We also picked up a pair of bamboo shades from Target and put those up as well:

                            
    
Although it looks like they are see through (and they do let light in which we wanted), they provide privacy from the outside.

The wall space over the sofa in our den/office has been empty for a while now…

Here are some ideas I came up with in Paint:

Option 1:  Mirror (which we have and I just painted white) – will reflect the window

 

Option 2:  Four framed photos

 

Option 3:  Shelf (which we have from Ikea) with kniknaks and framed wedding pic

 

I’m afraid the 3rd option might look too cluttered since we already have that ladder shelf on one side of the couch.  Comments or any other ideas you have?  We’d love to hear ’em!
