These are the “before” photos of our guest room:

We don’t have “after” photos yet but we do have a few ideas for this room (which is now basically used for storage).  We will be having family visit in a few weeks so we figure we better get moving on the guest room makeover!  Last night we purchased a mattress from Sears (took advantage of their VIP sale – 50% off plus free shipping) and we are lucky enough to be inheriting the box spring and bed frame from a family member.

We’re going to paint the room Sweet Pear by BM (a pale yellow with green undertones) and add white beadboard to the bottom half of the room with a chair rail:

The bedding will either be a beachy blue stripe:

Or a yellow vintage print:

We already have the VIVAN curtains from Ikea and are thinking about a dark bamboo roman shade (from Target) also for the window:

And since it’s a small room, the only other furniture we want to put in there is a nightstand (or two) with a lamp (or two):

What do you think?  Any other suggestions?

Something’s Gotta Give
I love the beachy blue striped rug in this living room and that adorable nook over the doorway on the left side of the photo with books lined up inside.  While I’m not one for white walls, they totally work in this room:

My dream kitchen.  I just love the look of white cabinetes with exposed hinges:

What I wouldn’t give to have a banister like this on our stairs!

The subway tile in this bathroom is a great look and I absolutely love the pale green moulding around the window:

I never used to do this before I bought a house, but now I always find myself looking at every little detail in the set decor when watching a movie.
